Privacy Policy
Last reviewed by the editorial desk in 2026.
EuroChronicle ("we", "our", "the editorial") publishes independent reporting on strength training and movement at eurochronicle.org. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from readers, how we use it, and how we share it with third parties — including Google. By using the website you confirm that you have read this policy.
1. Who is the data controller
The EuroChronicle editorial desk acts as the data controller for personal data processed via this website. Our editorial address is Via Tortona 27, 20144 Milano MI, Italia. Reader desk enquiries can be sent to editorial@eurochronicle.org.
2. What data we collect
2.1 Information you submit voluntarily
- Full name, email address and (optional) phone number when you submit the consultation form.
- Free-text training notes and goals you choose to share in the message field.
- Stage of training selected from the drop-down list.
- The fact that you confirmed the consent checkbox before submitting the form.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Technical request metadata (IP address, browser, operating system, language, referrer URL).
- Pages visited, scroll depth and approximate time spent on each article.
- Cookies and similar identifiers set by us and by third-party tools described in section 4.
3. Why we process this data
- To respond to consultation requests submitted through the reader form.
- To monitor the editorial performance of our articles (which pieces are read, which are abandoned).
- To measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and to deliver remarketing messages to readers who previously visited the site.
- To comply with applicable Italian and European law, including record-keeping obligations.
The legal bases we rely on are: consent (for analytics, marketing and remarketing cookies, and for the consultation form), our legitimate interest in running and improving an editorial product, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Google services and data shared with Google
This website uses the following Google services. By granting consent through the cookie banner you accept that personal data — including online identifiers, cookie IDs and IP address — is shared with Google LLC and may be transferred outside the European Economic Area on the legal grounds that Google relies on (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
4.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how readers move through the site: which articles they finish, which they leave, and which paths convert into consultation requests. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes online identifiers, including IP address (truncated where supported), device characteristics and interaction events. Aggregated reports are visible to the editorial desk; raw event data is processed by Google.
4.2 Google Ads Remarketing
We use Google Ads, including its remarketing functionality, to display EuroChronicle content to readers who have previously visited the site. To do this, the Google Ads tag stores cookies and online identifiers that allow Google to recognise your browser across the Google advertising network. Conversion measurement is also enabled (for example, when a reader successfully reaches the consultation thank-you page).
4.3 What Google receives
- Online identifiers (cookie IDs, advertising IDs) and IP address.
- Pages viewed on this site and events triggered (such as form submissions).
- Approximate location derived from the IP address and device language.
- Conversion signals (whether a reader reached the success page).
Google acts as an independent controller for some of this processing. Google's own privacy policy applies in addition to this one.
5. Other recipients
We may also share strictly necessary data with: our hosting provider (for serving the site), our email infrastructure (for replying to your enquiry) and, where required, with public authorities under a valid legal request. We do not sell reader data to third parties.
6. Retention
Consultation form submissions are kept by the editorial desk for as long as needed to answer your request and, after that, for a maximum of 24 months for record-keeping. Analytics data is retained according to the configuration we set in Google Analytics. Cookies expire as described on the Cookie Policy page.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and request a copy in a portable format. You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, including for analytics and marketing cookies, by re-opening the cookie banner from the Cookie Policy page. To exercise any of these rights, write to editorial@eurochronicle.org. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
8. Children
EuroChronicle is written for an adult readership. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to us, please contact the editorial desk and we will remove it.
9. Updates to this policy
If we change this policy we update the "last reviewed" line at the top of this page. Material changes are also flagged on the home page for at least two weeks.
